"What is the difference between a coagulant and a flocculent?"
Coagulants neutralize the electrical charges surrounding particles allowing them to "stick together" creating small to mid-size clumps. Flocculent's act as a net, gathering up the smaller coagulated particles to form larger matter that increases gravitational settling. Some coagulants serve a dual purpose of both coagulation and flocculation.
"So is PC3 a coagulant or flocculent?"
PC3 is both. While many clarifiers coagulate, not all completely flocculate. PC3's chemistry will perform both tasks as needed.
"Will PC3 add phosphates to pool water?"
No. PC3 like all Continental Research pool products, is free of algae feeding phosphates.
"Can PC3 be used with all types of filters?"
PC3 is not recommended for use with DE filters.
"Is PC3 safe for the environment and my kids?"
Yes. PC3 is a biodegradable, nontoxic formula and will not harm your family or the environment. PC3 can even be used in ponds or lakes and will not harm fish or wildlife.
